Hearing for Abolition Bill EXTENDED

January 13, 2014

KCADP Repeal StickerDue to the amazing turnout of concerned Kansans at today’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on two death penalty related bills, the hearing has been EXTENDED and will CONTINUE on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. The continuation of this hearing will take place at 10:30am in Room 346-S in the capitol building and is open to the public! The hearing today was on Senate Bill 126 – Abolishing the death penarly: creating crime of aggravated murder and SB257 – Review and appeal of convictions resulting in a sentence of death.

KCADP does not support any efforts to reform or continue capital punishment and we urge you to voice your OPPOSITION to SB257 and SUPPORT of SB126.

Please contact Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Senator Jeff King, at Jeff.King@senate.ks.gov or at 785-296-7361 and let him know where you stand on this issue!  Click here to see if your senator also sits on this committee and share your opposition to SB257 and support of SB126 with them as well!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend today, your support is greatly appreciated!

If you have any questions, please contact our office at 785-235-2237 or at info@ksabolition.org.
